Who we are
From test laboratory to elastomer institute
In 1996, Bernhard Richter, whose background is in elastomer and application technology for seals, founded the O-Ring Prüflabor Richter, an independent laboratory for testing and failure analysis of seals and elastomer materials. Since then, the variety of products we work with has grown far beyond O-rings and seals.
What started with O-ring tests has evolved into the Elastomer Institute Richter.
With 25 years of experience in elastomer technology, countless cases of failure and material analyses, seminars and consultations, we are at your side for all components made of elastomers, thermoplastic elastomers, also in combination with metals.

We, a team of 30 colleagues, work for you with and without a white lab coat in Großbottwar or on site.
On a total area of 1,200 square metres, we test, analyse, advise, qualify and train at your request.
With numerous testing and measuring devices, jigs, laboratory ovens, cold chambers and autoclaves, we are ideally equipped for material testing on polymer materials and components.
We have been continuously accredited since 2002. This gives you the assurance that we test with the highest professional competence and that our test results are objectively reliable towards third parties. With us, you have a competent and reliable partner in all matters relating to consulting, material and component testing.
